Katie Isaac, a Climate Futures Fellow with the Center for Sustainable Climate Solutions (CSCS) in Harrisonburg, Va., has prepared a new resource for congregations. During her one-year project, Katie surveyed MCUSA and Mennonite Brethren congregations regarding their views on climate change. She then interviewed 21 of the pastors who responded.
Based on the motivations, successes and challenges they described, Katie created a series of suggested approaches for congregations at different places on a spectrum from those very engaged with climate change to those who did not see it as a priority.
The MCCN council met with Katie during its most recent meeting and was impressed with her work.
