A solar thermal system helped Eastern Mennonite University's Cedarwood dorm to become the first LEED® certified residence hall in the state of Virginia to earn a gold rating. The system has been in place since 2010, and has exceeded expections, providing 50 to 70% of the dorm's hot water during the school year.
