Doctrine of Discovery Study Guide
Dismantling the Doctrine of Discovery is a movement of Anabaptist people of faith working for justice for Indigenous people—especially in relationship to land issues.
The five modules and Bible Reflections in the study guide are assembled by Katerina Friesen are available free online. Each module contains a case study about acts of contrition and reparative justice. For example, one session includes the story of John Stoesz, whose family decided to sell a farm that was originally Dakota land and give half the profits for Indigenous land justice.

Thinkers and Doers Join at Rooted and Grounded Conference
From living stones to mining in Suriname, from climate change to solar panels, from biblical studies to immersion experiences, the third Rooted and Grounded conference at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary provided plenty of thought for those willing to think about relationships between humans, God and creation. “This conference blew my mind. I am not alone,” one attendee said.
Read The Mennonite’s write-up on the conference.
For in [Christ] all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.
